While delivering her economic agenda to donors during her recent fundraiser event in New York City on Sunday, Vice President Kamala Harris promised to encourage investment in artificial intelligence (AI) and cryptocurrency if elected.
She added that her agenda would support and strengthen innovations, such as AI and crypto, and channel regulations on protecting investors and consumers.
Kamala Harris Promised to Aid Crypto, AI Sector During Her Fundraiser At Cipriani Wall Street In Manhattan
Last Sunday, Vice President Kamala Harris was at a fundraiser event at Cipriani Wall Street in Manhattan, the most densely populated county of New York City. The event was organized to raise $27M for the Democrat presidential candidate, Kamala.
Kamala’s speech during the fundraiser event seemingly changed her previous ‘uncertain’ stance toward cryptocurrency and gave hope to crypto enthusiasts.
While addressing the donors at the event, Kamala promised to aid investments in the artificial intelligence (AI) and cryptocurrency sector if elected. She vowed to foster innovation in both AI and crypto, and release regulations centered on protecting investors and users.
She said,
We will partner…[and] encourage innovative technologies like artificial intelligence and cryptocurrencies while safeguarding our investors and consumers.
The Crypto Community Was Impressed By Her Statement
These statements were Kamala’s first overtures to the cryptocurrency sector as a Democratic Party’s presidential candidate.
This pro-crypto speech is coming at a time when the cryptocurrency community is eager to know Kamala’s stance on cryptocurrency, especially after leaving crypto out of her statements at the presidential debate.
The crypto community wanted to know whether Kamala would differ from the SEC chair Gary Gensler and Senator Elizabeth Warren’s cryptocurrency, and Kamala did not disappoint.
Following Kamala’s amazing remarks, Hayden Adams, CEO of Uniswap Labs, endorsed Harris in his comment on X platform.
According to Anthony Scaramucci, the founder of SkyBridge, Kamala will participate in cryptocurrency discussions this week with some cryptocurrency advocates to help her prepare her campaign policies on digital assets.
Earlier this month, it was reported that Kamala Harris’ campaign would start accepting donations in cryptocurrencies. However, there has been no reports yet on how much crypto Kamala has received for her campaign.
Republican Presidential Candidate Donald Trump Bought Burger With Bitcoin (BTC)
While Kamala is seemingly taking a baby step into cryptocurrency, her opponent, Donald Trump, has established himself as a pro-crypto presidential candidate, pitching himself as “crypto president” at the San Francisco tech fundraiser.
Just recently, Trump was spotted purchasing burgers with Bitcoin at PubKey, a crypto-themed bar in New York City.
He was also featured on Rug Radio, a cryptocurrency media platform, where he promoted his new DeFi project, World Liberty Financial, and discussed its crypto policy.
