Crypto.com, a leading global crypto platform, recently partnered with Stripe to enable better crypto payments.
Based on an announcement that the exchange posted on January 6, the two are releasing product updates to help businesses more easily accept crypto payments. Thanks to the integration with Stripe, Crypto.com will be able to provide millions of businesses with a way to seamlessly accept payments from digital currency holdings.
The announcement went on to say that Crypto.com is also the first cryptocurrency platform to be integrated with Stripe for direct payments from a balance. Now, customers will be able to checkout and pay using their preferred coins and tokens, in addition to the ability to pay with stablecoins.
Stripe can convert payments into the businesses’ preferred local currency and enable the funds to be deposited into the bank account, just like any other payments that businesses receive from traditional sources.
Expanding Crypto.com’s Vision and Goals
Commenting on the move, Crypto.com’s General Manager for Americas and EVP of Payments, Joe Anzures, said that increasing everyday accessibility to and utility of cryptocurrencies for consumers and merchants is central to his company’s vision.
“We are excited to partner with Stripe, a recognized leader in digital payments, to collectively catalyze a new era for crypto-enabled commerce.”
Furthermore, Crypto.com will use Stripe to enable their customers to easily buy cryptocurrency using their credit or debit cards, as specified by the announcement. That way, Crypto.com’s mission of continued expansion of credit and debit card offerings and processing card-based purchases in the US can continue.
Crypto.com has grown to be one of the largest crypto exchanges in the world, serving millions of users around the world. Stripe said that starting in January 2026, its integration with the firm will also advance its goal of putting cryptocurrency in every wallet, and it responds to growing consumer demand for crypto payment options.
Anzures added that the partnership with Stripe is a game-changer for the crypto industry, as tapping into its vast merchant network will let Crypto.com to bridge the gap between crypto holdings and real-world spending.
Stripe went on to explain that the integration will appear as a new payment option on the checkout pages of participating Stripe merchants that use Stripe’s Optimized Checkout Suite, which includes prebuilt UIs, such as the Payment Element and Stripe Checkout.
“Crypto.com users can then select this option, scan a QR code, confirm payment in the Crypto.com app, and complete the purchase using their crypto balance. The process is designed to be as simple and intuitive as using a digital wallet,” the company explained.
